While a cleaning schedule is helpful for staying on top of such tasks, the right tools make these chores less of a hassle. I recently tested 10 top-rated lightweight vacuum cleaners suitable for everyday use, and the Samsung Jet 75 Pet cordless vacuum was my favorite for banishing small and large messes.

As part of testing, I used all 10 lightweight vacuums in my home, covering over 2,000 square feet of hardwoods, area rugs, carpet, and vinyl floors. Aside from suctioning everyday dirt, I spilled flour, rice, and M&Ms on my floor to see which vacuums could tackle these bigger messes. The Samsung Jet 75 came out on top in almost every test. It’s lightweight, easy to maneuver, and offers four powerful suction levels. I tested it over the course of 3 weeks, using it daily to clean tracked-in dirt, food crumbs, and more.

The Samsung Jet 75 Pet is a cordless stick vacuum with a removable battery. It comes with a wall-mount charging station, an extendable crevice tool, and a mini motorized tool for cleaning pet hair. The attachments are easy to swap, and the Jet 75 converts to a handheld vacuum, which is convenient for cleaning stairs and upholstery.

The Jet 75 has four suction modes: min, mid, max, and jet. The “jet” setting is its most powerful mode, capable of picking up large messes in seconds. The battery on the Jet 75 lasts for up to an hour on the minimum setting but only 5 minutes on max. During testing, I found the mid suction power adequate to clean most messes, and the battery lasts for up to 30 minutes in this mode.

The Jet 75 only comes with one battery, but extras are available for purchase. Since these batteries are easy to swap out, having a spare on hand can be a real convenience when doing major house cleaning.

Superb Cleaning on Hardwoods

In testing, I found that the Samsung Jet 75 did an excellent job of cleaning hardwood floors, outperforming the other models I tested. When I received the vacuum, I put it together by locking the handle into place, which took me less than a minute. I then charged it for 3.5 hours before putting it to work.

I started by vacuuming my floors on the mid setting. The floors in my home are old wide-plank hardwoods that have slight gaps. Most vacuums don’t have enough power to suction dirt from between the gaps, but the Samsung Jet 75 had zero problems tackling this job. I occasionally needed to boost the mode to the max or jet setting to pick up bigger messes, like chips my kids dropped on the floor, but that was rare. The mid suction proved powerful enough for most jobs.

Even though the battery only lasts for 30 minutes on the medium setting, the vacuum was so efficient that I made it through my entire downstairs, about 1,000 square feet, and still had battery power left to spare. The vacuum picked up hair, dirt, and food crumbs without issue. There were never any clogs, and it didn’t leave any dirt behind.

For a more rigorous test, I spilled flour, long-grain white rice, and M&Ms on my hardwood floor to see which vacuums could clean them. A few of the other vacuums I tested scattered the rice or took multiple attempts to suction the M&Ms, but the Samsung Jet efficiently cleared away all test substances.

Performs Just as Well on Carpets

I tested the Samsung Jet on the low-pile nylon carpet in my attic, a low-pile area rug, two high-pile bathroom mats, and a shag carpet.

I rarely go in my attic, so it had been a couple of years since I last vacuumed it. The Samsung Jet 75 glided over the carpet, picking up dust and dirt I couldn’t even see, as evidenced by the dustbin filling up. I also have a low-pile area rug in my kitchen where everyone in our household sets their shoes, making it one of the dirtiest areas in my home. The vacuum picked up dirt, small chunks of mud, and leaf debris that family members had tracked in the house.

Next was a large shag area rug in my daughter’s bedroom. Some vacuums pull at the carpet fibers rather than the ground-in dirt, making her rug a real challenge to clean. I was skeptical about the Samsung Jet’s ability to handle this job, but it performed well. I tried it on all the settings and had no issues. It pulled out little pieces of paper, crumbs, the occasional press-on nail, and regular dirt.

The only issues I ran into were on my smaller, high-pile bathroom rugs. On the min and mid settings, the Samsung Jet did a great job. When I boosted the mode to the max or jet setting, the suction was too powerful, and it picked up the entire rug rather than the dirt. This was no big deal, since the medium-suction mode was more than enough to get it clean, but it did prove once again how powerful the machine is.

I also littered the carpet with flour, rice, and M&M as I did when testing my hardwoods. Again, the Samsung Jet cleared away all test substances.

Is the Samsung Jet 75 cordless vacuum worth the money?

At just under $300, the Samsung Jet 75 Pet is a mid-priced cordless vacuum. It’s worth the money for those who want a vacuum that offers excellent suction and can handle all types of floors. Its 6-pound body and slim head make it easy to maneuver and fit around and under furniture, and it outperformed the other nine vacuums that I tested. Plus, since it’s a cordless model, it’s a great go-to for everyday messes—there’s no need to unwind and plug in a cord.

One of the biggest drawbacks to this vacuum is battery life (an issue with nearly all brands and models of cordless models.) Fortunately, Samsung equipped the Jet 75 with a removable battery that’s easy to swap out with the push of a button. Extra batteries are available at $129.99. While this is an additional cost, it adds up to an extra hour of battery life, ideal for those with large homes.

Should you buy the Samsung Jet 75 Pet vacuum?

I recommend the Samsung Jet 75 cordless vacuum to those with mostly hard floors and low-pile carpet. During testing, this vacuum was so efficient on my hard floors that it picked up most dirt and debris in one pass, saving me time and effort. While it also worked to clean high-pile carpets and shag rugs, carpet vacuums with adjustable roller bars often perform better on these surfaces.

Aside from its four section levels, five-layer filtration system, and removable battery, I also like how this model looks. The Samsung Jet 75 has a sleek, modern design with a slim gray body and rose gold accents around the dustbin. Cleaning power is always the most important factor I look for in testing, but I can also appreciate a good-looking vacuum.

As far as filtration systems go, the Samsung Jet 75’s is high-quality. It prevents clogs by separating fine, medium, and large dust particles. The micro filter is washable and easy to remove. The cleaning head also features a button that lets users remove the roller bar to clear away any stuck-on hair. The biggest design con is that users must remove the dustbin from the vacuum to empty it. Removing the dustbin isn’t a huge issue, but it is less convenient than vacuums that empty from the bottom of the dustbin.

Overall, I highly recommend the Samsung Jet 75 Pet cordless vacuum to anyone looking for a mid-priced model. Those who want to explore less expensive options may be interested in one of the nine other lightweight vacuums we tested.
