Kenmore Elite Gas Dryer

07/25/2008 10:43 AM aschleede

I have a Kenmore Elite Gas Dryer that's been working fine until now. It runs for 1-2 minutes on the setting picked, never warms up and then beeps error code E2. Does anyone know what error code E2 means?

** Kenmore Elite Gas Dryer **

I'm afraid that is not enough information to identify the appliance in question. What is needed is its exact model number.

You can find tips for locating the model and serial number identification tag on your appliances at the following link:

** Does anyone know what error code E2 means? **

On many electronically controlled models that indicates a short in the dryer's temperature sensing circuit. In many cases it is cause by just a defective temperature thermistor but could also be caused by a problem in the wiring to it or in the sensor circuit of the electronic control itself.

Here's the info on the dryer:
Model #110.70056990
Kenmore Elite Total Care System with Even Heat.
Need to know what E2 means on the panel after the dryer runs for 1-2 minutes.

E2 means...

** Need to know what E2 means **

For your model dryer, quote:

"If after 60 seconds, E1 or E2 flashes in the display and the dryer shuts off, the thermistor or wire harness is either shorted or open." [E2 indicating shorted.]
