Mold on the "wrong" side of gypsum sheathing

06/16/2008 09:21 AM badkarmaagain

My 1970's vintage brick ranch was sheathed with a gypsum product. In the bathroom no vapor barrier was used between the insulation and the backerboard for the tiled walls. There is a small amount of mold on the paperbacking of the sheathing. I only affected the area of the shower and extends up about a foot. Can this be safely cleaned?
