Non-Ionic Surfactant for Herbicides

OVERVIEW

Surfactant for Herbicides is a wetting agent with 80% non-ionic surfactant for increasing the penetration, coverage and overall effectiveness of almost any herbicide. Surfactant for herbicides can be used with almost all herbicide sprays including Trimec, Atrazine, Brush Killer and 2, 4-D Amine. Surfactants reduce the surface tension of water to produce more uniform coverage and penetration of herbicides and weed killers.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Use Non-Ionic Surfactant with most herbicides in order to insure more uniform coverage by reducing the surface tensions of spray droplets. For most herbicides, such as: 2,4-D Amine, Trimec R, Brush Killer, Reward R (Diquat R), Asulox R, Image R, and others.

  • For most Herbicides use: 1 teaspoonful per gallon (1 -2 pints per 100 gallons of spray).
  • For Round-up use: 1 Tablespoonful per gallon (2 quarts per 100 gallons of spray).
  • For MSMA herbicides use: 1 Tablespoonful per gallon (1-2 quarts per 100 gallons of spray)

I bought this surfactant for spot spraying weeds. There had been some herbicides that failed to work properly so I figured this stuff would help. The attached photos are of some weeds I sprayed to hopefully kill off before winter - nutsedge, poa, dandelions, spurge, etc. That was three days ago. I sprayed in the morning then we had rain all afternoon and I thought it would prove to be a waste of chemicals, but the surfactant seems to be still doing its thing and breaking surface tension after several days, rain, and irrigation! While the herbicides haven't shown results yet, I'm amazed to see that the surfactant is still active. The darker green areas are where my irrigation from this morning is not beading up on the weeds or surrounding grass. When I run out of this bottle, I'm definitely buying more of the same because this stuff just plain works and I can get it at a good price.

If you use a pre-emergent to get rid of crabgrass, box grass, bluegrass you will need this product to mix with your pre-emergent prior to sprain. This will allow the pre-emergent to get ingested to the weed and not go into the soil, I tried pre-emergent by itself and did not work on existing weeds. As soon as I mix this product with my pre-emergent it killed all weeds and did not harm my lawn, which is Bermuda. Great product.

I bought this after I noticed that the all-natural herbicide I had purchased wasn't living up to its marketing. What a difference this surfactant made! I could really see the difference even using the same herbicide with and without the surfactant.
Instructions are a little confusing, so I just added an ounce with each gallon of herbicide/water I was mixing in my pump sprayer, and that did the trick.
It's non-toxic to plants and animals, too.
