We’re finally at the end of 2023! This year there was no shortage of nifty home gadgets and innovative home products that hit the market. And what better way to wrap up the year than highlighting 20 of our favorite home innovations of the year? This past spring Craftsman announced three new electric riding mowers and added 10 additional new outdoor products to streamline lawn care. We were particularly intrigued by the brushless compact riding mower that could trim up to an acre of grass per battery charge, the brushless spring trimmer with 80 percent more runtime, and a multi-purpose gardening tool that could speed through planting a garden three times faster than you might manually.

3. Eufy launched a powerful robot mop
Eufy’s Clean X9 Pro CleanerBot was among our favorite new launches this past year for its high-tech capabilities that take the hassle out of cleaning your home. 4. John Deere and Ego teamed up on battery-powered lawn care products
Two of our favorite legacy outdoor brands, John Deere and Ego announced an exciting partnership, adding powerful Ego batteries to John Deere tractors. Ego’s line of outdoor tools is now sold through John Deere retailers alongside their quality tractors. Plus, they work with more than 70 compatible products, opening up a world of new environmentally-friendly lawn care solutions to John Deere fans.

5. Solo Stove launched a pizza oven
Solo Stove, the brand behind one of our favorite firepits added a pizza oven to its lineup this past year—The Pi Prime Pizza Oven. Churning out pizzas in just 90 seconds, this appliance is your ticket to perfect pies at home. It reaches a scorching temp of 950 degrees Fahrenheit, and weighs just 30 pounds, making it easy to transport.

6. Durable workboots from Keen

8. A whole home energy monitor controlled via a smartphone App
Bringing home protection into the modern age, Leviton’s whole-home energy monitoring keeps your home protected with a smartphone app that allows you to control your home’s circuit breakers, lighting, and charging right from your fingertips. It tells you important information like real-time energy usage and consumption data while notifying you of any unusual home activity, such as broken HVACs, a broken freezer, and more.
9. Dyson unveiled a high-powered vacuum and wet mop combo
Dyson’s V15s Detect Submarine is undoubtly one of the most talked about launches in 2023. 13. Vitamix launched an electric composter
Vitamix launched the newest generation of its countertop composter: the Eco 5 FoodCycler. This appliance turns food scraps into compost, helping reduce the amount of waste and unwanted leftovers in the kitchen by 90 percent. While not the brand’s first composter, its 5-liter capacity handles double the amount of its predecessor, the FC-50. While you load it up, count on the carbon filler to help make it for indoor use.

14. A 6-in-1 air fryer arrived from buzzy cookware brand Our Place
Our Place, the brand behind the coveted 8-in-1 Always Pan and Perfect Pot launched its take on the air fryer: the Wonder Oven. Like Our Place’s other kitchen products, this compact appliance is a multitasker. It air fries, steams, roasts, toasts, broils, and reheats so you don’t have to switch to another appliance. 15. Ooni just launched its first electric pizza oven for indoor use
The brand behind the market’s most coveted outdoor pizza oven (our personal favorite from hands-on testing, too!) launched an electric indoor-outdoor model to make restaurant-quality pies in your kitchen. Ooni’s pizza oven features a large 13-inch cooking surface, precise temperature dials, a cordierite baking stone, and a built-in timer with none of the ashy mess of a wood-burning oven. 16. A sleek, small-space-friendly solution for clear countertops
We loved this ultra-sleek under-mount sink design from Bocchi. Recognized at KBIS (Kitchen and Bath Industry Show) this past year as Best of Show, the Baveno Hide-Away Kitchen Sink System transforms from a standard-size sink into prep space in seconds.
