Sandi Schwartz is an award-winning author of the book Finding Ecohappiness: Fun Nature Activities to Help Your Kids Feel Happier and Calmer and a freelance journalist specializing in environmental and wellness topics. Her work has been featured in The Washington Post, National Geographic, Library Journal, Yahoo!, Good Housekeeping, Chicken Soup for the Soul, Verywell, over 70 regional parenting and women’s magazines, and more. Sandi has also spoken about environmental and mental health topics at more than 50 engagements, including the National Alliance on Mental Illness National Convention, Children & Nature Network Inside-Out International Conference, American Camp Association conference, and on numerous podcasts.
Her prior experience includes freelance writing and research projects with environmental, energy, transportation, and health organizations and publications. She also held communications positions at the National Academies, United States Environmental Protection Agency, and Cadmus—a consulting firm where she worked on the EPA’s ENERGY STAR and Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools programs.

Sandi earned a Bachelor of Arts in environmental studies at The George Washington University, a Master of Arts in government with an environmental focus at Johns Hopkins University, and a specialization certificate in Foundations of Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.

Over the years, Sandi has enjoyed growing her own tomatoes and peppers and creating delicious drinks and meals from lemons, limes, and coconuts growing on trees in her yard. She is thrilled to be planning her dream meditation garden for her new home.
