About
Brionna Farney is a freelance writer who leverages her experience as a civil engineer and construction manager to write informed articles on home improvement and construction topics. She has written for many home improvement and construction trade publications and loves to share her own DIY experiences as she renovates her 1970s home.
Experience
Brionna has always had a passion for home design and construction. After receiving her degree in civil engineering and construction management, she moved to Washington, D.C., and began working on some of the nation’s largest construction projects. She managed day-to-day construction tasks and enjoyed working with many talented tradespeople. When she wasn’t on the construction site, Brionna worked with the digital interior design company Modsy to decorate client spaces in 3D.
After 5 years, Brionna packed up and moved closer to her hometown in Upstate New York. Rather than continue working in the construction industry, she now writes about it as a full-time freelance writer. Brionna writes for several home improvement and construction trade publications, including BobVila.com, The Spruce, MyDomaine, Forbes Advisor, Angi, PropertyNest, and more.

Brionna received a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering and construction management from Clarkson University. She also holds an OSHA 40 certification.
