About
Rebecca Jones is a freelance writer based in Birmingham, Alabama. She has been professionally freelance writing since 2019 and has contributed to BobVila.com since 2024. Rebecca covers home improvement and gardening topics and has also written about personal finance, parenting, commerce, and lifestyle topics for other publications.
Experience
Rebecca is a writer, educator, and DIYer. For 18 years, she’s been a professional educator who has taught various levels, including preschool, middle school, exceptional needs, and high school. With family roots in construction, farming, and gardening—she’s sweat copper, grown her own food, and renovated three homes to date—it was a natural progression for her to begin writing professionally about these topics. Her writing is influenced by her daily interactions, projects, and discoveries, and she enjoys writing honest reviews of products that make day-to-day life easier.
She lives with her husband and two active young sons in a suburb outside of Birmingham, Alabama. They are outdoor enthusiasts and often traverse the trails and creeks in their neighborhood, fish on the Gulf Coast, and enjoy backyard parties on the patio.
