Experience
Sara is a full-time freelance writer and editor covering a wide range of topics that impact everyday living, such as insurance, credit cards, banking, household management, and small- business ownership. Sara’s career wasn’t always as a writer though; she spent most of her working years in the corporate world. Her former work life was mostly in sales, including for a major appliance manufacturer, where she learned more about refrigerators and dishwashers than she ever thought possible.
Eventually, Sara left the corporate world to pursue her passion as a writer and small-business owner. In addition to writing, she is also an editor for other financial publications and has published a children’s book, too. When she’s not writing or editing, Sara loves spending time with her husband, three kids, and two dogs. In the rare moments she has to herself, she enjoys reading, walking, cooking, and watching golf.
Education
Sara earned a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from the University of Georgia.

Proudest DIY
Sara admits she doesn’t have any sort of green thumb—most plants actually fear her when she walks by them. However, she recently turned a corner and learned how to start a small container garden on her back patio and grew the most beautiful red geraniums. The key to success was to start small and set reminders for watering.
