Staying comfortable in our home is something that many of us take for granted. Unfortunately, for some individuals, old or failing heating and cooling systems can make it nearly impossible to keep a home cool in the summer or warm during the frigid winter months. Lennox understands this challenge that many people face. Since 2009, the HVAC company has been partnering with local dealers to provide new heating and cooling equipment to community members who are in need through the Lennox Feel the Love program. Dealers across the country installed new systems during this year’s installation week, which ran from October 5 through October 12.
Lennox’s Feel the Love program seeks to bring comfort to those who need it the most.
To learn more about the Feel the Love program, we spoke with Lanessa Bannister, the vice president and general manager of Lennox Residential HVAC. She explains that the program’s goal is to provide necessary heating and cooling systems to deserving families or individuals across the country. “These recipients are unsung heroes in their community and have faced difficult circumstances such as financial challenges, unexpected illness or injury or impact from a natural disaster that prevented them from being able to replace their HVAC unit,” says Bannister.
The cost to purchase a new HVAC unit is prohibitive for many. Lennox’s Feel the Love program removes this obstacle, making it possible for many to find the comfort they desire—or even require. “One of these deserving families, the Hoopers, experienced a tragedy last year that caused their daughter to suffer a traumatic brain injury,” Bannister shares. “With her condition, it was vital that she had access to reliable heating and cooling, since her injury makes it harder to regulate her temperature. We were able to work with We Care Plumbing, Heating and Air (in Murrieta, California) to provide the Hooper family with a new HVAC unit and install it free of charge.”
Beyond receiving a free HVAC unit that actually works, Bannister highlights another benefit of the new systems. “These units help cool and heat the home with less energy, keep utility bills down and even reduce greenhouse gas emissions, helping people and the planet,” she says.
Local Lennox dealers make installation week possible.
Lennox—a top HVAC brand—donates the systems and equipment for the Feel the Love program recipients. However, without the help of local Lennox dealers, installation week wouldn’t be possible. These dealers donate their time, installing the systems free of charge for the recipients.
“The Lennox Feel The Love program is a great opportunity to get our team members engaged in the community and give back to those in need on an annual basis,” says Jonathan Cook, the trades administration manager at Milestone Electric in Dallas, a participating Lennox dealer.
“At Milestone Electric, our No. 1 focus is customer service, which is why we strive to help those in need in our community.”
Jesse Taylor, the owner of Three Rivers Heating and Cooling in Portland, Oregon, was also glad his company was able to participate in the program. His company installed five systems for community members in need. Taylor says, “Our heroes were in dire need of new systems. Some for medical reasons and some due to an aging system that was no longer efficient. One of our heroes just couldn’t believe that anyone would do something like this without any strings attached. No strings, just feeling the love.”
This year, Lennox helped individuals and families in nearly every state.
Individuals and families across the country felt the love this year through Lennox’s program. Bannister shares that Lennox, with the help of its dealer network, was able to install 413 new HVAC units. This touched the lives of individuals and families in 45 states. When you account for all the different components, including heat pumps, furnaces, and coils, Lennox donated a total of 924 pieces of equipment this year. This was the 15th year of the Feel the Love program. “Since its inception in 2009, over 2,750 families have benefited from this program,” says Bannister.
