We traced PelPro’s origins to 2006 as a Dansons brand in Scottsdale, Arizona. In 2014, the brand was sold to Minnesota-based Home and Hearth Technology (HHT). Perhaps better known as simply US Stove, the United States Stove Company claims to be the longest-established stove manufacturer in the U.S., tracing its history back to mid-1800s Albany, New York. Today, the business sells a wide range of equipment, including pellet, wood, gas and coal stoves, forced air heaters, furnaces, camp stoves, and pellet grills. They also own the Ashley Hearth, King, and Vogelzang pellet stove brands. Although designed and engineered in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, US Stove’s pellet stoves are produced in China.
US Stove offers models to heat spaces of all sizes. Ceramic glass windows are designed to retain heat and are easy to clean. An advanced burn pot delivers high efficiency and helps US Stove pellet stoves meet EPA approval. The headline statement from Harman is that their pellet stoves are “built to a standard, not a price.” The brand’s story traces back to Dane Harman, who, in 1978, made his first stove because he and his wife were struggling to pay their electricity bills. Harman Stoves has since built a name for innovative technology and unrivaled quality. The brand is based in Halifax, Pennsylvania, which is also where Harman pellet stoves are manufactured. Harman now belongs to HHT and is sold under the Forge & Fame banner.
With the exception of the sleek, modern Allure 50, the Harman pellet stove range has a traditional look. The range-topping Harman Absolute 63 pellet stove features a built-in thermostat with a wireless room sensor, easy-touch controls, and glass that is mirrored when not in use but allows the flame to be seen once lit. However, given the premium prices, we are a little surprised that Wi-Fi isn’t included.

5. Ashley Hearth

Cleveland Iron Works is part of Enerco, which has been around since 1957. They also own Mr. Heater, and in addition to consumer products, Enerco manufactures heavy-duty commercial heating solutions. Not surprisingly, Cleveland Iron Works is based in Cleveland, Ohio. They state that their products are “built by experienced heating professionals,” which is likely true, but while customer service is based in the U.S., manufacturing takes place in China.

Robert England built his first stove in 1976 to heat his welding shop. England’s Stove Works was born in the backyard in Monroe, Virginia, where Robert worked alongside his sons Ron and Scott.
