I got my Breeo X24 smokeless fire pit a few years ago, and I’ve been a huge supporter of the brand ever since. The top-notch quality alone would have made me a happy customer, but they keep me intrigued with cool product innovations, too, especially when it comes to live-fire cooking. Fast forward to last year, when I reviewed the Live Fire Grill and had a full complement of Breeo accessories to work with: skillet rest, sear plate, flat top griddle, Outpost grill, cast iron kettle, and pizza oven. Whether I wanted to do some old-school campfire-style cooking or more traditional charcoal grilling, I thought I had everything I would ever need—until Breeo introduced the Grill Dome.

Breeo Grill Dome
The Breeo Grill Dome is a sturdy stainless steel cover designed to pair with the Outpost Grill, which means it is compatible with both X- and Y-series fire pits as well as the Live Fire Grill. The dome reflects and redistributes the heat beneath it, creating an even-temperature cooking environment. It is hinged in the middle so that once the dome is set up, you can easily raise the front half in order to access the cooking surface. No need to wreck the temperature balance by removing the dome altogether. Paired with the included pizza stone, it turns the grill surface into a live-fire oven. A built-in thermometer above the Grill Dome handle lets you monitor the operation more closely, adding another layer of control and convenience.
By trapping some of the smoke around the food, it helps infuse more smoky flavor into whatever I cook. It also helps when I want to melt cheese on burgers or brown the meat just a touch darker without going overboard. It allows me to cook more efficiently over a wider temperature range or to reach a higher, more stable cooking temperature over a lower flame or cooler coals. I have also used it as a warming oven with indirect heat and baked flatbread on the stone under the dome.
Since the Grill Dome does not attach to the Outpost Grill (it only sits on top), it could be used on any fire grate large enough to hold it. It comes in two sizes: The X24 and X30-compatible Grill Dome 24 that I tested measures 20 inches in diameter by 11.75 inches high, and the accompanying pizza stone measures 16 inches in diameter by .75 inch thick. The smaller Grill Dome 19 is 15.5 inches in diameter by 9.5 inches high, and it comes with a 12-inch diameter pizza stone that is also .75 inch thick. The smaller one works with X19 and Y-series fire pits.
