Ornamental Grasses

For Adding Drama to Your Property

Birds are attracted to the flower heads, but deer do not eat this ornamental grass. It thrives in full sun and with dry to average moisture.

Purple Fountain Grass (Pennisetum setaceum ‘Rubrum’)

This attractive and tough plant grows in puffy clumps, reaching about 12 inches high and wide.

Blue Fescue  (Festuca ovina glauca)

Beware that this non-native grass is considered invasive in many states because of the thousands of seeds each plume produces, so look for sterile varieties.

Pampas Grass  (Cortaderia selloana)

Fill the container with warm water and add a tablet of Alka-Seltzer. Allow the mixture to sit for ½ hour before rinsing it out, and the container will be as good as new.

Regal Mist Pink Muhly Grass  (Muhlenbergia capillaris ‘Lenca’)
